HypercasualGaming is a site for all ages. Every game is reviewed before it's published and can be removed at any time if it breaks these rules.
Not allowed
- Sexual content or nudity, even if it's drawn.
- Blood of any kind, even a little, gore, extreme violence or realistic cruelty.
- Disturbing horror: deformed monsters, frightening faces or distressing settings.
- Hate, harassment or discrimination for any reason.
- Drugs, real-money gambling or illegal activities.
- Other people's content without permission: copied games, characters, music or trademarks.
- Malicious code, cryptocurrency mining, collecting players' data or trying to escape the game's isolation.
- Advertising, links to other websites or tricks to make the player do something outside the game.
- Texts or logos that don't match the game or that mislead about what it is.
Requirements
- The game must work fully, in portrait mode and on mobile.
- All the game's text must be in English.
- It must use the HypercasualGaming SDK and report when each game starts and ends.
- The listing (name, controls, description, hashtags and logo) must describe the game honestly.
- If it has violence, jump scares, flashing lights or strong language, you must mark it in the content warnings.
Content warnings: when to tick each one
Tick every warning your game needs. When in doubt, tick it: the administrator can remove it when reviewing.
- Violence: tick it if people or real animals are seen being hit, shot or hurt. Don't tick it if you only jump on cartoon enemies, shoot monsters, robots or aliens, or destroy objects. Blood, gore and realistic cruelty are never allowed, even with the warning.
- Flashing lights: tick it if at any moment the screen, or a large part of it, can flash 3 or more times within one second, however unevenly they fall, or if it flashes saturated red. A flash is a change from light to dark and back to light. Based on the “three flashes” criterion of WCAG 2.3.1, with a one-flash margin.
- Fear or jump scares: tick it if there are sudden scares or images that could frighten a small child. Disturbing horror is not allowed even with the warning.
- Strong language: tick it if there are swear words or insults.
What happens if they're broken
- Rejection: the submission isn't published and you receive the reason so you can fix it.
- Removal: a published game can be blocked and disappear from the feed.
- Loss of permission: in serious or repeated cases, the account can no longer publish games.
